Welcome to Grand Café Nautique, the restaurant on the Maas in Vlaardingen. A place where you can have breakfast in the morning air, enjoy an extensive lunch, drink a good glass of wine, or dine deliciously while the ships glide by. Without starched table linens, with a sunny terrace where you can relax wonderfully for a while. With all the delights from our open kitchen and the dynamism on the water, there’s so much to see and hear here. Do you just want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while? Then you can relax in our grand café or on the terrace by the water with a cup of coffee, a tasty beer or a delicious glass of wine. 

That we are inspired by the theme of ocean sailing is reflected not only in our interior but also on our menu. Our food and drinks are conscious, bold, international and a little adventurous, with a nod to the different continents of the Ocean Race. Curious which wines we have? Come take a look in our water-cooled wine cellar and choose a bottle of good wine that appeals to you most. Feel at home!

We have something truly special for everyone who wants to celebrate in a special setting. But also if you simply want to catch up with some people while enjoying a view of the dynamic river. Every Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., we serve a shared lunch (a selection of small cold/hot dishes from our menu to enjoy tasting, served in 3 courses) in our Grand Café. This guarantees a delightful, timeless dining experience.

With a view of the Port of Rotterdam, a Rotterdam tea line, ‘Natte thee’, is naturally a must.
The tea has been carefully selected and comes in pyramid-shaped bags so you can enjoy a nice cup of tea with your meal. And of course, it tastes mightily fine!

If you plan on visiting us with a larger group of people we will reserve one of our cozy rooms for a high tea in an intimate setting for 99,-. These rooms also provide a marvelous view over the Nieuwe Maas. 

Can be booked between 12:00 and 17:00.

Terrace

The Grand Café is surrounded by sun-drenched terraces. You can practically touch the tough sea giants and luxurious cruise ships with the rippling Maas water under your feet. As soon as the weather permits us to sit outside at the beginning of the year, we place our tables and chairs outside, and the terrace is opened the entire day. Having breakfast in the morning air, having a cup of coffee while the wind blows through your hair, or enjoying dinner in the relaxed atmosphere by sunset.

We are quite proud of the fact that we have the only water-cooled wine cellar in the Netherlands! We keep our wines at the right temperatures in a natural way, surrounded by the cool water from the Nieuwe Maas.

After you go down the spiral staircase of the grand café and enter the wine cellar, you will find yourself below the river’s water level. We created the perfect place to store our wine stock, hidden in the old foundation from 1953, built in the Nieuwe Maas.

You are welcome to choose a bottle of wine from our wine cellar to drink during your dinner. This is also a charming and unique location for a wine tasting with friends or colleagues. Please contact us for more information about the possibilities.

Even if you do not stay the night, you are welcome to have breakfast here. Our rich breakfast buffet suits all tastes, whether you choose a light breakfast, or a solid sailor’s breakfast!

You can enjoy our all-you-can-eat buffet for 22,00 pp. Afterwards, you can let your food digest comfortably, enjoy the sunrise, and map out the rest of your day! (From Monday to Friday it is possible to have breakfast between 07-00:10:00, and during the weekends between 07:30-10:30)
