•  Set the date. Bear in mind holidays and religious festivals
•  Make an broad outline of the programme for the day
•  Decide what you want. Will it be a Registry Office only wedding or are you planing a church
   blessing as well? Would you like a big evening party or just a reception?

•  Prepare an estimate of the cost on the basis of the outline of the programme

9 till 6 months before
 

•  Book the Registry Office
•  Organise music
•  Arrange church ceremony if required
•  Book accommodation 
•  Confirm the wedding date, ensure you have the relevant documents, arrange the date on which the
   notice of the intended marriage is issued and book an appointment with the Registrar.
•  Arrange transport
•  Arrange photographer and/or video camera operator
•  Appoint the Master of Ceremonies

6 months before

•  Buy the wedding outfits
•  Draw the wedding outfits
•  Draw up the final guest list
•  Ask the withnesses
•  Book the honeymoon

4 months before

•  Draw up the wedding gift list
•  Book dancing classes if required
•  Book the Bridal Suite

3 months before

•  Design wedding stationery
•  Select small tokens for the wedding guests
•  Draw up the wedding menu
•  Book hotel accommodation
•  Make an appointment with the solicitor if required
•  Plan the scenario for the church blessing, if required
•  Book appointments with the hairdresser and beauticain

2 months before

•  Choose wedding rings, or have the engagement rings engraved
•  Send out invitations, if necessary with route descriptions
•  Choose presents for the master of ceremonies, the withnesses and bridesmaids
•  Ensure passports and vaccinations for the honeymoon are up to date

6 weeks before

•  See a florist about the bridal bouquet, buttonholes, ect..
•  Order the wedding cake
•  Have another fitting of the wedding clothes and check accessoires

4 weeks before

•  Make the final preparations
•  Buy the shoes

2 weeks before

•  Arrange the seating plan and confirm the final number of guests for dinner, 
   reception and evening party.
•  If desired, have a final rehearsal
•  Put an advertisement in the paper

1 week before

•  Final fitting of the wedding clothes

The day before

•  Pack a small bag with make-up, spare pair of tights, etc.
•  Have the rings ready
•  Try to have a good night sleep...

After the honeymoon

•  Write to the guests to thank them for their attendance and/or gifts
